Our Story

The Dells Christian Campground was originally known as the Dells Baptist Campground when it was founded in 1961. Floyd and Emory Kepple had a desire for their 127-acre farm to become a camp for children. When Lloyd Nevel was approached with this idea, he shared the opportunity with members of Memorial Baptist Church in Verona, Wisconsin.  The men who helped bring in heavy machinery, tools, supplies, and a vision for the camp's formation were Willard Ager, Rudy Lenherr, Lloyd Nevel, Melvin Grinell, Eldon Himsel, Herb Kietzke and Pastor Matthews.

Some of the original buildings that are still in use today are the tin building, Thunder Lodge, Pine Lodge and the pump house.  The dining hall offers a place for group meals or church services.

Today the campground is run by our Board Members:

Sean Schilder: President

Michael Jasinski: Vice President

Gretchen Schilder: Treasurer

Debbie Nevel; Secretary

Alma Jasinski

Mark Nevel
